McDONALD SPORTSMEN’S ASSOCIATION BLACK POWDER CARTRIDGE RIFLE SILHOUETTE MATCH 2008 SCHEDULE -- 40 SHOT NRA APPROVED MATCHES
DATES: April 5, May 3, July 5, August 2, September 6, October 4, November 1. Range will be open for practice the Friday before the Match (no charge).
MATCH FEES: $25.00 – Make checks payable to McDonald Sportsmen’s Association. *Exception for 1st time non-registered non-classified shooter -- $10.00
REGISTRATION: Prepaid/pre-registration is suggested. Range capacity is 60 competitors. Refunds with one week notice prior to match. Walk-ons welcome provided space is available.
MATCH TIME: Sign-up 6:30 a.m. until match time, sight-in 7:30 a.m., competitor meeting 8:45 a.m. Match begins approximately 9:00 a.m.
RULES: All current NRA rules apply, ear protection required, eye protection suggested, open block indicator rule will be enforced. Open block indicators will be available at nominal cost. You must be a current NRA member.
COURSE OF FIRE: Offhand – 10 chickens; from cross-stick – 10 pigs, 10 turkeys, 10 rams
AWARDS: For both iron sights and scope -- cash and/or prizes for Match Winner, 2nd and 3rd OPEN, plus 1st, 2nd and 3rd in each class, assuming there are the requisite number of shooters in each class. If there are not enough shooters to make up a class, competitors will be combined in the next higher class. Iron sights and scope will run concurrently as separate matches.
LONG RUNS: If a competitor knocks down all 10 targets, the competitor will be permitted to continue firing for the purpose of attempting a long run record. The competitor will have the choice of firing a long run at the end of the relay or at the end of the match, except that long run for pigs must be shot at the end of the match.
LOCATION OF RANGE: McDonald Sportsmen’s Club, McDonald, PA. Club website has a map.
FACILITIES: Kitchen, water and indoor restrooms. Campers welcome (no charge), sleeping in club house is permitted.
