2010 BLACK POWDER CARTRIDGE RIFLE SILHOUETTE MATCH SCHEDULE

ALL MATCHES SCHEDULED ARE 40-SHOT NRA APPROVED

 

 

DATES:  April 3rd  -  May 1st  -  June 5th  -  July 3rd  -  August 7th  -  September 4th  -  October 2nd   -  November 6th

RANGE WILL BE OPEN FOR PRACTICE FRIDAY BEFORE THE MATCH (NO CHARGE).

 

MATCH  FEES:   $25.00 – Make checks payable to McDonald Sportsmen’s Association.

            *Exception  –  $10.00 fee for 1st time only non-registered non-classified shooter.

 

REGISTRATIOn:   pre-paid / pre-registered suggested.  range capacity is 60 competitors.  refunds will be given with one week notice prior to match.  walkons welcome providing space is available.

 

match time:  match begins approximately 9:00 a.m. sign up at 6:30 a.m. until match time, sight in starts  7:30 a.m., competitor meeting 8:45 a.m.

 

rules:   all current nra rules apply. ear protection required & eye protection suggested.  open block indicator rule will be enforced (open block indicators will be available at nominal cost). you must be a current nra member.

 

course of fire:   offhand – 10 chickens, from cross sticks – 10 pigs, 10 turkeys & 10 rams.

 

awards:  iron sight competitors  -  cash and / or prizes for 1st, 2nd & 3rd.  individual class  awards based upon number of competitors in each class.  if there are not enough competitors to make up a class, competitors will be placed in the next higher class.    

scope competitors  –  shooters will compete in one scope class only, unless there are 10 or more scope shooters, in which case the class will be divided into a & b.

            anyone shooting a score of 30 or higher for the 1st time will receive a special club CERTIFICATE (it is the competitors responsibility to notify match officials).

 

long runs:   if a competitor knocks down all 10 targets in a row, he / she will  have the choice of firing a long run at the end of their relay or at the end of the match for the purpose of establishing a national record.  long run for the pigs must be at the end of the match.

            anyone who fires their first ten-in-a-row on any animal should inform  match officials to register forms with the nra (competitors will receive a certificate from the nra).

 

location of range:   our website has a map or you may call the match director.

 

facilities:   kitchen, water and indoor restrooms.  campers welcome (no charge) & sleeping in the club house is permitted.
